The Dutch Battle Memorial MAC (Motorcycle Awareness Campaign) Chapter of Hammond extends our sincerest thanks for your participation this past Saturday at our annual “Dutch Battle Memorial Ride and Gumbo Cook Off”. As always after such an event, we like to critique ourselves and see how we might improve.  We are especially interested in hearing from the motorcyclists to see how we might make it better and more enjoyable for you.  Therefore, we invite and encourage your input, suggestions, etc. with regard to the ride, the vendors, and all the day’s activities.

All proceeds from the event will go toward promoting MAC’s mission of safety and awareness.  MAC is aware of the fact that almost 2/3 of motorcycle crashes are the result of a motorist who violated a motorcyclist’s right of way or simply was not aware of the presence of a motorcycle.  Our soul purpose is to promote motorcycle awareness to the motoring public.  We strive to provide a safe riding environment for anyone who rides a motorcycle.  Basically, we do not want to hear any more “I just didn’t see the motorcycle” when accidents occur.  To learn more about MAC, I would invite you to visit MAC’s web site at:  macorg.com.

The Hammond MAC Chapter would love to have you attend our monthly meetings.  We meet the 2^nd Tuesday of each month at 6:15 PM at Alack Superstore, 17420 Hwy. 190 E, Hammond, LA 70403. I do ask that you let me know if you plan to attend so that we might be prepared since a meal is served. Our next meeting is Tuesday, November 9^th.
