Baton Rouge Chapter - Ride to the Paragon Casino
Written by Joe SpearmanSunday February 17
The Baton Rouge MAC Chapter had a ride to the Paragon Casino in Marksville to eat last Sunday. John Edmondson was the planner and ride leader for this great ride. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day. The weather was a little cool but that didn’t stop the hard core riders. Most of the riders are pictured here with the new “Saddle Bag” MAC sign that can be carried in a saddle bag and assembled in about 3 minutes.
We can now promote motorcycle awareness even when we do a fun ride.
Thanks to everyone who rode last weekend.
We are sad to report the passing of Harvey Darnell. He passed on to be with the Lord on Friday, June 15 of heart failure.
Harvey was a long time member of the Baton Rouge chapter and an avid supporter of MAC and it’s mission. He served as an interim director on a couple of occasions, but more importantly Harvey was always there when help was needed, every day that is except Sundays.
Harvey always kept Sundays for church and family. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Harvey will miss him.

MAC Attends the GN Gonzales Honda 75th Anniversary Event
Written by Jerry Maye
On Saturday, September 17th 2011 The MAC Baton Rouge Chapter attended the 2011 GN Gonzales Honda's 75th Anniversary in Baton Rouge, La. A large number of people turned out on a beautiful day to ride. A few people said they saw Mr. George riding around the store, (you are missed).
Scott and Laure Elkins, Harvey Darnell and Rickey Duplessis were there to represent MAC at the information booth. Their efforts accounted for five new members as well as gave away over 40 yard signs, sold over $100.00 in T-Shirts, patches, helmet stickers.
Lots of food, music and fun was had by all. The beautiful TW Robinson and Bob Courtney of the popular motorcyclist television production LA Rider added a special flare to the day.
We are asked if motorcycle awareness makes a difference. There was almost a 40% decrease in fatal crashes in La. Did MAC have an impact on those numbers? We like to think so.

Hi MAC Gang,
Scott, Myself, and Harvey had a good time at the Kids Safety Expo at Cortana Mall. We did hand stamps for the kids and told them about the safety gear and the importance of it's use and handed out signs and bumper stickers stickers to the parents.
This was the 1st Annual Kids Expo for the Mall and they had a great turn out with over 45 Booths and several hundred kids with parents.
Sending a picture of our table before the event started.
Have a good day
