OUTSTANDING NEWS!!!

I was stunned…pleasantly, of course…when I learned of this new report from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission: Motorcycle crash fatalities were down by nearly 6 percent, and motorcycle injuries decreased by nearly 11 percent.

(Note: These figures are for the calendar year 2020.  I don’t know why it takes so long to report these numbers, they just do.)

The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission says that the state set a record in 2020 for the fewest motor vehicle crash injuries.  But paradoxically, 2020 also produced the most fatalities in Louisiana in a dozen years, they report.

It is the goal of the Motorcycle Awareness Campaign to prompt motorists to actively watch for motorcycles, thereby decreasing the number of motorcyclists who are injured or killed due to inattentive or distracted drivers.

Be safe out there.
