My thanks to Cyndi McKinley for sharing this tragic story of her boyfriend, Billy Crotts.  I use it with her permission.  Cyndi writes:

The first time he was hit was in 2009 when someone ran a red light.  He ended up in the windshield of the car.  He right femur, his tibia and fibula were crushed.  He was in the hospital for over 2 weeks . He was told he would never walk again … but that didn’t stop him.  He healed slowly, but finally he was healed and ready to get on a bike again.

The second time he wasn’t so lucky.  On February 28, 2019, he was on his way home from work, and a truck didn’t see him.  The truck pulled out, smashing into Bill and dragging his body and bike until it stopped with him and his bike underneath the truck.   He was killed, leaving our 16 month old daughter and myself behind.

Our hearts go out to you, Cyndi.  I, personally, believe that Bill, and everyone who lost their lives, still live on Earth in the acts of goodness they performed and in the hearts of those who cherish their memory.
